Journal Metadata

Each journal entry that you have created in Journey is embedded with metadata. They include weather, location and motion activity. The metadata can be added, removed or changed at the editor’s bottom toolbar.

Journey retrieves the weather data from our data provider BitWeather. The data might be delayed for up to a few hours, depending on your location. Historical weather data is supported for up to a year.

To remove weather data, tap the weather/temperature icon in editor's bottom toolbar > Remove weather.

If the weather icon turns red, it indicates that Journey is unable to retrieve the weather data. Please check your internet connection.

You can add and change the location of an entry. This feature is useful if you want to view the entries based on location in Atlas.

To change or remove location data, tap the pin icon in editor's bottom toolbar.

You can keep track of your current motion activity when you create an entry. For example, the motion activity will be automatically set to running if the entry is created from Google Fit. The available motion activities are:

  • Stationary
  • Eating
  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • Running
  • Flying (Flight)
  • Automotive
